The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has introduced a new requirement for applicants seeking UAE residency through property ownership. Effective immediately, jointly owned properties between spouses will no longer be accepted for property-based residency applications. The update applies to the 10-Year Golden Residence, 5-Year Residence, and 2-Year Property Residence categories. Going forward, each applicant must independently meet the minimum property value required through their individual ownership share.
